Hello, everyone! We're about two weeks in and four weeks from the deadline. Your assignments are due on Saturday, August 19th, at 10 PM EDT.

A few notes:

Whether or not you're signed up for the exchange, you're welcome to post gifts, or extra treats! I've compiled the list of requests in this spreadsheet for easy filtering and searching. To send someone a treat, post it on AO3 to the Hamiathes' Gift Exchange 2017 collection--you can use the "Post to Collection" button on the top right--and enter their AO3 name precisely as it appears on the spreadsheet in the "Gift this work to" field.

If you're interested in reviewing fanworks and providing feedback, or if you're looking for someone to review your assignment, check out the Beta Post! To be sure all the beta offers are in one place, I'm only making this post on Dreamwidth, but you don't need a Dreamwidth account to comment.

Finally, this year I will be posting all pinch hits to the Dreamwidth page for claiming. They'll go up as soon as anyone defaults on their assignment, and I'll post an announcement to Livejournal and Tumblr. If you do need to default, please do so as early as possible so there's plenty of time to find a pinch hitter to cover the assignment.

To fulfill your assignment, you must post it to the Hamiathes’ Gift Exchange Challenge on AO3 by August 19th.

You can choose any of the requests, not necessarily the one you matched on, but the request must feature the character or relationship listed in that request, must match the specified medium (fanart or fanfiction), and must meet the minimum of 500 words for fanfiction and 500x500 pixels for fanart. Relationships with an & must be platonic in nature, while relationships with an / must be romantic or sexual.

Questions, concerns, or problems?

• If you didn't get an email, try the Assignments link on the left-hand side of your AO3 page. If you don't see it there, please contact me privately right away. My gmail is hamiathesmod.
• If you have general questions about the exchange, you can send an email or leave a public comment.
• If you have a question or concern specifically about your assignment, please email me privately. Remember that gifts will remain anonymous until September 2nd. I'm happy to ask your recipient for clarification on their prompts!
• If you cannot fulfill your assignment, please let me know as soon as possible by clicking the Default button. I understand that things come up--just get in touch! If you don't either default or turn in your assignment by the deadline, you'll need to complete a makeup assignment in order to participate next year

3. Relationship: Eddis/Sounis: As above, by Sounis, do you mean Sophos or his uncle?

Hi, all! After all the fun we had in last year’s exchange, not to mention the release of a new book (!!!), I’m delighted to announce that the second annual fanfiction and fanart exchange will be kicking off shortly. Here’s my proposed schedule:

• Character and relationship nominations: June 14th through the 24th at 10 PM EDT
• Signups: June 27th through July 8th, closing at 10 PM EDT
• Assignments sent out: July 10th at the latest
• Fanworks due: August 19th at 10 PM EDT
• Fanworks revealed: August 26th at 10 PM EDT
• Artists/authors revealed: September 2nd at 10 PM EDT

I'm making a couple of minor changes this year, the most relevant of which is allowing you to nominate, request, and offer relationships as well as characters. Details on that are at the FAQ.

If you signed up for the exchange, you should be getting an email with a link to your gift. You can also find it by opening your AO3 page and following the Gifts link in the left-hand navigation pane on the left.
